Hotel:

Providence Crowne Plaza Hotel, 801 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, RI 02886, which is near the Providence Warwick Airport. Reunion rates are $99.00 plus 13% tax ($111.87 inclusive). These rates are good for 3 days prior and 3 days after the reunion and include a complimentary buffet breakfast, free airport shuttle and the hotel will provide free shuttle to local shopping as well. RV parking is available for $25.00 per night, but no hook ups are provided. Reunion Rate cut-off date is Sep 4^th, 2011. After that date, they reunion rate will only be extended on an availability basis. So don’t delay…..get your hotel reservation asap.

Driving Directions:

From the North. On I-95 take exit 12A (Route 113/East Avenue), bear right and take the first right onto Greenwich Ave/Rte 5. From the South, exit I-95 on exit 12. Turn slight right off the exit and then another slight right onto Greenwich Ave/Rte 5. From the West on Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte 90 East) take exit 10A (US 20 / Worchester / Route 146 Providence.) Merge on to Rte 146 South toward Millbury/Providence. Next, merge on Rte 295 south toward Warwick. Merge onto Rte 113W/East Ave. via exit. Make a U turn onto Rte 113 East then turn slight right onto Greenwich Ave/Rte 5. The Crowne Plaza is on the right hand side of Greenwich Ave.

Hospitality Room: The Hospitality Room will open at approximately 9:00am every day and will remain open until about 11:00 pm (except during meals and tours). There will be Liquor, wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea and snacks will be available.

Memorial Service: The Memorial will be held aboard the USS Massachusetts. Time TBA in the Reunion Packet.

Thursday, Oct 6^th: Tour to Battleship Cove at Fall River, MA, the largest US Navy ship museum in the world. $45 Per Person. There we will tour the battleship USS Massachusetts, the Destroyer USS J. P. Kennedy, the Submarine USS Lionfish and a Russian Missile Corvette (Guided Missile Destroyer). We'll depart the hotel about 9:30 am and return to the hotel at 3:00 pm. It is about a 45 minute bus ride. Included in the price of this tour will be bus transportation, Park Admission and a luncheon of a sandwich buffet in the USS Massachusetts Officer's Ward Room. The buffet will have sliced turkey, roast beef, tuna salad and sweet & sour kielbasa with peppers & onions. Friday, Oct 7^th:      

Free day for on your own touring, until evening schedule.

6:30 pm – Cocktail Hour prior to Friday Buffet, which will be served at 7:00 pm. The Buffet will be $35.00 per person and consist of three entrees, Roast Top Round of Beef, Chicken Marsala and Sole Filet w/Crab Meat, along with a salad, veggies, taters and dessert. After the Buffet Dinner, stand by for our third annual “Arlington Idol” Karaoke contest. Ken Cox now has over 1,700 tunes from the 40's through the 90's. Crooners, Country, Rock, you name it. We'll have the $100 prize for the winning singer, But we need to come up with a better way of determining the winner. Those who do not sign up for the Buffet and Karaoke will not be eligible to participate in the Karaoke contest. Ken Cox will again start the Karaoke off with another “fractured” song. There will be a pay bar.

Saturday, Oct 8^th:

Association Meeting: (Time TBA in the Reunion Packet). We’ll discuss future reunion sites and other Association Business. As stated in the Association Constitutions, all attendees and/or guests may attend the Meeting, but only paid up members of the Association may cast votes. If you do not belong to the Association, or if your dues are delinquent, please do not cast votes.

Photographer: A photographer will be on site Saturday afternoon (time TBA in your reunion packet) to take portraits and also to obtain candids to produce a Memory Book that you can purchase. More information on this will be in your reunion packet along with Reunion information and name tags. If you attended the Branson Reunion and still have the Neck Wallet ID holder, please bring it to the reunion. We only have a limited number left to pass out. Those persons who do not get one of the Neck Wallets will get a clip on name tag holder.

Farewell Banquet: 7:00 – 11:00: The Banquet  will be $38 per person and will start with a cocktail hour at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with dinner served at 7:00. A DJ Dance will run from 8:00 until 11:00 pm. the menu for the plated dinner will be your choice of Sliced London Broil or Boneless Breast of Chicken. Drawings will begin right after the meal and the Dance will begin after drawings. There will be a pay bar.

 SOME ATTENDEES WILL BE ATTENDING THEIR FIRST USS ARLINGTON REUNION.  BE SURE TO   SAY “HELLO” AND WELCOME NEWCOMERS INTO OUR MIDST. WE ARE ALL AGMR-2 SHIPMATES, REGARDLESS OF OUR DEPARTMENT OR DIVISION OR THE YEARS WE SPENT ABOARD.
