Roe, Rusty SN Subpoena for crossing the equator
I was really interested in the Apollo 8 as you can
tell...I was a radarman striker and had worked in the radar room until
4am...I then stayed up and ran back and forth from the radar room to the
flight deck and made this report on all the events about the splashdown I
could. I had to keep it very general with no call signs of the ships and
helicopters or any classified info but it is still pretty interesting to
read and get the idea of what was going on at the time we were there.

January 12, 2002 I joined the pre-commissioning detail in November, 1965. I was in the Communications department serving as signals officer and assistant registered publications custodian. (I have been in touch with Jack Kendrick, who I remember well) I left the Arlington in July, 1967 to serve as communications officer for USS ALGOL, AKA-54, where I served until November 1968. I now reside in Nazareth, Pa. Tony Emery Top |
